The Celebration

Nada Alameddine and Utsav Akhoury's wedding brought two worlds into one room — Lebanese and Indian — and the brief for DreamzKrraft was to honour both at once. Rather than choosing a dominant culture and treating the other as decoration, the design wove references from each homeland through every function, so guests arriving from Beirut and from India alike found something of their own in the celebration.

Each event took its own distinct theme. The mehndi was staged as a souk, the lantern-lit bustle of a Levantine market translated into décor. The sangeet went cosmic, set against a deep night sky. The haldi reimagined a spice market, all warm ochres and pigment. And the wedding ceremony itself was rustic and entirely red — a single saturated palette held from end to end.

Holding two cultures in balance across four very different functions is a question of restraint as much as imagination, and the studio kept both traditions legible without letting either overwhelm the other.

For the couple, the measure of the work was not the spectacle but the ease of it — a multi-day, two-culture wedding that ran without a single visible seam.
